Hello and good Thursday morning. This is Marsha Kerr Talley, your emotional wellness coach, here to remind you that healing isn't about delusion or avoidance. Today, we're addressing a controversy involving podcasters who mocked black women, shedding light on the deeper emotional trauma and societal biases black women face daily.
As a black woman, I discuss the painful reality of being demeaned by black men and others, including how these experiences manifest in various settings like classrooms and professional environments. This episode delves into personal anecdotes and broader societal issues, highlighting the audacity black women are often criticised for when they stand their ground.
We explore the emotional damage inflicted by those who should protect us and the systemic biases that perpetuate this mistreatment. Through my own experiences, from a contentious school meeting to a disappointing coaching program purchase, I emphasise the need for self-awareness and the importance of addressing these biases.
Join me as I call on everyone, especially black men, to reflect on their actions and attitudes towards black women. Let's work together towards healing by acknowledging and addressing the elephant in the room, and striving for a better, more respectful future.
If you are a Black woman trying to find your voice and recovering from this type of humiliation, schedule a call with me. www.MarshaKerrTalley.com
